Mark Hassenplug, president and ceo of global life sciences compliance consulting firm, Maetrics, was selected to give a keynote address on the medical device industry and the changing global regulatory landscape it faces. The presentation, “Global Business and Regulatory Trends in the Medical Device Industry,” covered the state of the medical device industry, the rapidly changing regulatory environment, and the need to create and implement a new global compliance culture within companies. Hassenplug’s talk took place at the Medtec Europe Conference on Wednesday, last week.
Hassenplug said: “Until recently, many medical device companies gave regulatory compliance a lower priority in their product development strategies, even being reactive in approach. Today’s more complex, multi-platform devices, global scale, and increased regulatory zeal has compelled management to seek a more proactive approach, but often in the face of a reactive culture. Maetrics’ experienced guidance helps companies become more agile in bridging that gap and provides global acumen such that companies will create a successful evolution of their compliance strategies and programmes.”
