Thanks to a cooperation agreement between German plastic device development expert Raumedic and plastics specialist ElringKlinger, also based in Germany, Raumedic is working with high temperature PTFE for the first time.
Dr Ralf Ziembinski, director of Raumedic’s extrusion and tubing business unit, said: “With ElringKlinger’s development of Moldflon, it has become possible for the first time to process PTFE thermoplastically, which creates entirely new product possibilities in medical engineering.”
