Custom prototypes manufacture, Protolabs, has been awarded a Manufacturing Leadership Award by Frost & Sullivan for its achievement in operational excellence.

Excellence
Protolabs was awarded for its Cellular Division project, an initiative designed to position the company for further business growth, produce more favourable manufacturing costs and offer cost benefits to its customers.
The project involved Protolabs reorganising its US injection production facility and modifying personnel responsibilities to reduce wasted time and excessive materials during the moulding process.
The Cellular Division project achieved all of these aims and will use the improved operation efficiency as the company scales its operations and grows its customer base with on-demand manufacturing.
Vicki Holt, Protolabs’ President and CEO, said: “It’s an honour to be selected by Frost & Sullivan as a leader in manufacturing. This continuous improvement project has been crucial to our growth during the past year and sets us up to continue serving our customers with high quality prototype and production parts well into the future.”
The company will be recognised at the 14th Annual Manufacturing Leadership Awards Gala, on 11-13 June at the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort and Spa in Huntington Beach.
