MedtecLive is working with Germany’s largest association of engineers Verein Deutscher Ingenieure (VDI) on this year’s event in Nuremberg, which runs from 21-23 May.

VDI is organising the “Young Professionals@Medtech” meeting for the second day of the event. The Medical Technology division of the VDI Society Technologies of Life Sciences is providing support for the next exhibition event with MedTech Summit – Congress & Partnering. Other associations supporting MedtecLive include VDE, ZVEI, BVMed and bitkom.
Michael Spierkötter, spokesperson for the Young Engineers Network at VDI said: “It will be a pleasure to host the second annual meeting of the Young Professionals in Medical Technology at MedtecLIVE on 22 May 2019. As the centre of the medical technology industry, Nuremberg offers the ideal conditions for our new talents format. This new exhibition event means we have a strong partner on our side.”
The Medical Technology division of VDI will also contribute its expertise to the supporting programme of MedtecLIVE, which will include lectures at the open MedtecLIVE trade forum.
Fabienne Valambras, brand manager of Informa said: "The subjects are both fascinating and relevant. ‘Medical Spice’ looks at quality assurance for software in medical technology. And another presentation covers the question of biocompatibility in medical technology. We are very happy to be working with VDI, and with their level of commitment.”
In addition to the lectures on the first and second days of the exhibition, VDI will also participate in a half-day special on the subject of ‘Career and the Skilled Labour Shortage’ on day three.
Alexander Stein, executive director, NürnbergMesse, adds: “Together with our partner entities, and the parallel MedTech Summit congress in particular, we will ensure that the first MedtecLIVE is the “number one” professional platform for the sector.”
