Poised for growth amid growing demand, the distribution centre in Costa Rica will warehouse medical device manufacturing supplies, provide personalised customer service support and distribute more than 350 units of different products.
“Our dedication to service and to our customers and the industry at large were primary drivers in our expansion to Costa Rica, where many of our medical device customers are located,” said Alan Belinky, general manager, R.S. Hughes Latin America. “With far-reaching national locations in the U.S. and Mexico and a team ready to serve our customers’ needs, this strategic move is exemplary of our core values, including our relentless commitment to serve others.”
Within the new R.S. Hughes facility, the team has implemented a unique custom solution offering for customers, alongside trusted suppliers, allowing the corporation to expand its current distribution relationship to the country. With office space and 1,200 m2 of storage space, the facility includes:
- Regular product storage
- Chemical product storage
- Temperature-controlled room
- Cold storage
“In a post-pandemic, nearshoring world, customers are more and more seeking local suppliers to meet their production needs,” Belinky said. “Within our new facility, we can also offer our customers the opportunity to store inventory in our warehouse and our product experts can provide personalised customer service support through daily deliveries.”
A multilocation company based in North America since 1954, R.S. Hughes has been a leading seller of a wide range of medical supplies that includes medical devices, cleanroom supplies and medical safety equipment. Servicing customers across the globe, R.S. Hughes provides products to clinics, hospitals, labs, and surgical and medical instrument manufacturers. The new R.S. Hughes location is located within the BES Free Trade Zone in Alajuela, Costa Rica. The Costa Rican State offers the Free Zones Regime to national and foreign companies that wish to develop their operations within Costa Rica — encouraging foreign direct investment, commercial exchange and job creation.
R.S. Hughes will be exhibiting at MD&M West from 6-8th February on booth 568.
