In 2002, Hyneman (above left) teamed up with his former employee, Adam Savage (right) to film a TV pilot for MythBusters. Over the 12 years that the show aired Jamie and Adam have busted over 750 myths, traveled the country to speak, and appeared on numerous shows including the Late Show with David Letterman, Good Morning America, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, and many more.

Chris Wiltz  interviewed Hyneman for Design News: “After 14 years as the co-host of the hit TV series MythBusters, he says he's left no myths behind. There's no hint of regret or even nostalgia when he talks about his time on the show, which premiered in January 2003 and ended its run in March 2016. Hyneman, who will be delivering a keynote address at Pacific Design & Manufacturing on February 7, talks about the show in the same way any other person might describe a productive day at the office – rewarding, but another chapter closed all the same.”

Hyneman now spends much of his time in a workshop that he’s converted into his own research & development space and is apparently currently working on a fire-fighting robot. It looks like he should have some interesting information to share with the MD&M West audience. He tells Wiltz: “I've come up with a number of inventions and I'm employed by different people to do prototyping and R&D.”
