Mexican company scoops accreditation world first

by

Flex has become the first company to receive accreditation for the manufacture of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) from MedAccred.

The company’s site in Aguascalientes also became the first company in Mexico to receive an accreditation from MedAccred of any kind.

In order to achieve the certificate the Flex team  underwent a critical process audit conducted by a technical expert and based on the AC8120 Audit Criteria for Printed Circuit Board Assemblies.

These audit criteria were created by the industry itself through the MedAccred Printed Circuit Board Assemblies Task Group, the participants included Baxter, Eltek, GE Healthcare, Jabil, Johnson & Johnson, Kaynes Technology, Kimball Electronics, Philips, Plexus, RTE Sales, Sanmina, Stryker, and Flex themselves.

Reflecting on their success, John Carlson, president Flex Medical Solutions, of Flex said: “I am delighted for the entire team at our Aguascalientes site. Flex as an organisation is committed to being the best-in-class in terms of quality. As the first company globally to receive a MedAccred PCBA accreditation we have proved ourselves to be compliant to the highest industry standards and now stand apart from our competitors knowing that at this time, no other manufacturer can claim to provide a higher quality product.”
