UBM combines Medtec Ireland & Medtec Europe

To strengthen the position of its medical technology trade fair UBM is integrating Medtec Ireland & Medtec Europe.

UBM announced the continuation of its strategy to ensure Medtec Europe is the preeminent, stand alone, European-focussed, medical technology platform by deciding to integrate Medtec Ireland and Medtec Europe. This decision is part of our long-term strategy to strengthen the position of Medtec Europe as the outstanding trade fair focussed on the entire supply chain in the medical technology industry, and offer exhibitors and visitors a much more powerful commercial offer.

This up-tiering approach has been successfully used before with Medtec UK, Medtec France, and Medtec Italy, resulting in an average increase in visitor numbers from these markets at Medtec Europe of 22.5%. Furthermore, there has been increased interest and attendance at Medtec Europe by Irish visitors, making the focus on Medtec Europe in line with industry trends. As of 2018 a dedicated stand for Irish and British companies will be available at Medtec Europe offering participating companies greater opportunities to reach into bigger networks while providing an attractive value proposition. In addition, there will also be seminars and presentations specifically tailored to the British and Irish markets in order to address the challenges of these markets.

The industry is developing a need for digitalisation and smart solutions throughout all segments of the medical device production chain. At Medtec Europe 2018 we will have dedicated areas on Smart Health and Smart Manufacturing including live demonstrations, expert speaking sessions, and exhibitors.  Last year we held the first Medical Device Manufacturing Conference at Medtec Europe, in partnership with the Fraunhofer IPA, and the overwhelming success of this event will see it return for 2018. Furthermore, the VDMA (Verband Deutscher Maschinen- und Anlagenbau, Mechanical Engineering Industry Association) will again be holding the VDMA Forum, a platform where exhibitors will promote their innovations in the form of short presentations.

A new addition to Medtec Europe for 2018 will be the Innovation Gallery. The Innovation Gallery is an area where our exhibitors have the opportunity to present their latest products in an exclusive area, supported by guided "Innovation Tours".

With an exciting event programme and increased visitors from across markets, Medtec Europe 2018 will facilitate collaboration and commercialisation opportunities that will drive the medical technology industry forward.
