Phillips-Medisize at Medtec Europe

Phillips-Medisize is showing off a range of solutions for plastics products aimed at the medical device and diagnostics technologies to visitors during Medtec in Stuttgart. This includes peristaltic pumps, titer plates and mixing injectors to complete MDD application sets, special drug delivery devices, dosing systems, disposable insulin pens, inhalers, bottles and closures, as well as sterile multi-chamber bags and test tubes.

“From the idea to the complete solution, from the design to the medical device/product, in sterile packaging, ready for use: We convince our customers by providing a complete service chain,” said Christof Plätzer, sales & marketing director Europe at Phillips-Medisize. During the exhibition visitors have been able to obtain information during technical discussions about the services offered; they have also been able to discuss ideas with the company.

Plätzer added: “In the field of medical technology it is our task to develop the design and functionality with the customer in open partnership. As soon as the customer is satisfied with the product prototype, the project progresses from our own in-house mould shop to injection moulding production and assembly – at clean-room class 7/8 levels.”

Among other products exhibited at Medtec, Phillips-Medisize includes a peristaltic pump where a tube rhythmically contracts to administer a contrast agent. The pump body is manufactured in polycarbonate, the tube is PVC. From prototype to injection moulded and, finally, to the ultrasonically sealed pump, the complete industrialisation process takes places in-house. Every project is allocated to a dedicated project leader. Other products shown include a bone cement mixing system equipped with a plastic attachment for the bone cement injector, with a variety of other transfer systems available as complete solutions with tube sets.
