Phillips-Medisize opens new global innovation and development office in Copenhagen

Medical device company, Phillips-Medisize, has announced the opening of a new Global Innovation and Development (GID) centre in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The centre will aim to support long-term growth plans for the company’s advanced injection, wearable devices and connected health technologies. Additionally, it will provide a hub which is easily accessible for the organisation’s European customers.

Phillips-Medisize hopes to establish a presence in Copenhagen, as the new facility will be in the middle of the Medicon Valley cluster and close to top universities, hospitals and global research and development-based pharmaceutical and medical device companies. This Scandinavian region is thought to be a natural entry point into Europe, as well as being home to innovators who are exploring large unmet medical needs in areas such as oncology, diabetes and personalised medicine.

This office will add to the other European centres by Phillips-Medisize within Struer, Denmark and Cambridge, UK.

Matt Jennings, CEO and president of Phillips-Medisize commented: “The opening of our new Copenhagen GID centre represents an exciting opportunity to expand our global footprint by supporting overall growth with closer proximity to current European clients, fortifying our business development efforts and attracting top talent in the region to join our growing team.”

Phillips-Medisize’s new GID center is precisely located in Teknikerbyen, Vium, in the greater Copenhagen area. The centre is now operational with a leadership team in place, and is currently looking to recruit people with pharma and medical device expertise in project management, quality assurance, regulatory affairs and engineering development across mechanical, software and electronics. The first hiring phase will include 30 employees, expandable to a 100-person workforce.

Phillips-Medisize has GID sites in Europe, North America and Asia.
