Medical device supergroup to launch at MD&M

A new company has been formed from a merger of four medical device groups. EG Gilero is combined of Gilero Biomedical, InField Medical and the medical businesses of Ennovea and ValTech Holdings, who have been brought together by EGI to create one vertically integrated firm.

“Over the past year, market research was conducted with current and potential customers to uncover industry expectations and unmet needs. The outcome of the research was instrumental in EGI’s goal to create the broad design-to-distribution service offering of EG Gilero,” said John Walter, Director of Business Development, Ennovea.

“We are very excited to partner with our customers and their own innovation efforts. With EG GILERO’s comprehensive service offering, industry expertise and extensive resources, we look forward to accelerating their device timelines from concept to commercialisation,” said Tim Hopper, Managing Partner, InField Medical.

EG Gilero will serve the medical device, drug delivery, and primary pharmaceutical packaging markets with a single-source partner for design, development and manufacturing. With operations in the United States and Asia, the firm is strategically positioned to operate in the global marketplace.

“Being able to leverage tooling, full contract manufacturing, and supply chain management capabilities with GILERO’s design, development and regulatory capabilities was the next logical step to efficiently support our customers,” said Ted Mosler, President & CTO, Gilero Biomedical.

Offerings include design, tooling, testing, regulatory, manufacturing, assembly, packaging and distribution/logistics. Customers are inventors, physicians, researchers/universities, startup companies, and large multi-national organisations.

“This unique strategic consolidation of capabilities and expertise will provide customers a new level of service, “said Jim Gaffney, President, ValTech Holdings.

“Today is an exciting day for the company and I am very pleased the entire management team of the original companies will continue on with the new EG GILERO organization,” said Larry Jutte, President & COO, EGI, Inc. “Having their continued expertise and leadership will be a key factor in our future success of exceeding customer expectations.”

The firm will make its official debut at the MD&M West MedTech Trade Show in California, February 10–12 (stand 1468).
