MPN exclusive: IPC reveals launch for Medtech Europe

by

Innovative Polymer Compounds – IPC - the Irish medical compounder will be launching the range of PEBASlide materials at this year’s Medtech Europe Show in Stuttgart Germany. The PEBASlide range is the culmination of materials development carried out in Ireland through the Collaborative Centre for Applied Nanotechnology (CCAN). CCAN enabled IPC to easily work with medical device companies and the CRANN Institute at Trinity College in Dublin, to develop the PEBASlide technology.

PEBASlide is based on the Arkema Pebax MED range of materials, in use globally across a range of exacting medical applications, and says IPC,  takes the properties of Pebax to a new level. As its name suggests, the PEBASlide materials delivers Pebax polymers with reduced coefficient of friction values and added functionality for devices in the medical sector.

“CCAN’s role is to enable innovative Irish companies like IPC launch globally competitive products by providing easy access to the technical expertise within Ireland’s national materials science ecosystem. CCAN’s focus on making that interaction as easy and fast as possible, allows our member companies like IPC and world class research providers like the CRANN Institute to focus on developing the best products as quickly as possible. CCAN is delighted to see the launch of the PEBASlide product range by IPC at Medtech Europe and we look forward to supporting IPC’s continued success and further growth over the coming years.” commented Alan Hynes, director of CCAN.
