Zilico Ltd Finalist in Technology Innovation of the Year Award
Zilico Ltd has been recognised for an outstanding 12 months at PWC Private Business Awards North West.
The company, which has developed ZedScan, an innovative cervical cancer diagnostic system, was a finalist at the PWC Private Business Awards North West in the Technology Innovation of the Year category.
In the first half of 2015 the Manchester Science Park-based company, included the publication of a National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) Medtech Innovation Briefing on ZedScan, and a significant drive in demand across the UK for the system, following a key clinical conference.
Dr Madeleine MacDonald presented at the 2015 British Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (BSCCP) conference in Nottingham. The presentation was based on the performance improvements achieved following the adoption of ZedScan into routine clinical use at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Recent presentations at the BSCCP and ASCCP (Australia) have helped drive demand for the ZedScan system.
Owen Pemberton, commercial director for DP Medical, Zilico’s GB distributor, said : “Feedback from delegates indicated ZedScan dominated the conversation at this year’s conference and coupled with the presentations, we have been inundated with requests to present on this innovative system as a result.”
