What Elkem Silicones are showcasing at Compamed

During this year’s Compamed, silicone supplier Elkem Silicones are exhibiting implantable-grade silicone rubbers and adhesives.

The company are showcasing its Silbione range of medical grade silicones for healthcare applications including wound care, prosthetics, and medical devices. Elkem Silicones claims the Silbione range are durable and comfortable for the patient, as well as being supported by the relevant regulatory documentation.

In addition to the Silbione range of materials, the Silbione Biomedical range will be presented during the event. Silbione Biomedical silicones are manufactured in a production site in the Unites States. This production facility includes a certified ISO class 8 manufacturing environment and an ISO class 7 packaging environment. The range includes biomedical liquid silicone rubbers, heat cure rubbers, and silicone adhesives that can be considered for the manufacturing of implantable devices like neurostimulation devices and catheter implants.

Elkem Silicones are also demonstrating the company’s recent developments in the field of additive manufacturing during the show. The company combines its expertise in silicone formulation and processing to support medical companies’ projects in this field.
