Thermoformable films for medical devices on display at MD&M West

Global manufacturer and developer, Tekni-Plex, will be showcasing its line of medical device films at MD&M West in February.

During the event, Tekni-Plex will be exhibiting its thermoformable rigid medical device tray applications including its TekniMD PXA structure which is a lamination of its proprietary PX film and Aclar. The company claims these are ideal for products which require an enhanced moisture barrier.

TekniMD COC.PG, a PETG/COC/PETG coextrusion is another alternative which is suitable for thermoformable medical device applications. Both TekniMD films structures can be sterilised using gamma, ethylene oxide or e-beam and are available in clear, white or blue tint.

Melissa Green, senior director global marketing, Tekni-Films explained: “With moisture barrier being a critical attribute for many new medical device applications, Tekni-Plex offers a broad portfolio of solutions. Our structures offer varying degrees of barrier to ensure your product’s demanding performance requirements are met.” Green added: “Our material structures have also been engineered to give you a wide processing window to help you achieve your operational objectives.”

Tekni-Plex has a multi-decade track record of providing thermoformable barrier materials to the global marketplace for a variety of applications.

The company will be on booth 3019 at MD&M West from 11th to 13th February in Anaheim Convention Center, Anaheim, California.
