The podyssey continues: MedTalk Podcast episode three is live

Episode three of the MedTalk Podcast features the regulation of contraceptive apps, how sensors can be used to help detect and monitor bone frailty and the public hearing on sodium valproate.

The editorial team behind industry leading healthcare titles European Pharmaceutical ManufacturerDigital Health AgeMed-Tech Innovation and Medical Plastics News are certainly not breaking ‘The Chain’ with the latest episode of the MedTalk podcast now available.

Being shown ‘Big Love’ by listeners and gaining impressive support, the first two podcasts in the series have featured topical and fascinating subjects such as Martin Shkreli and the difficulties in appointing a jury for his trial, the liquidation of Jawbone, a 3D printed artificial heart and a headset that claims to help people lose weight.

This latest episode, which is available on iTunes and SoundCloud, kicks off with the public hearing held by the EMA on valproate-based medicines, particularly the risk they pose in pregnancy and how women haven’t necessarily been given all relevant information on these serious risks.

Moving on from this, the team look at whether or not contraceptive/fertility apps should be regulated and how women could be given better guidance in the use of these digital tools.

We also ‘Don’t Stop’ there, with a look at how the sensors that are probably more well known for their use in the movies are finding use in the detection and home-monitoring of bone frailty.
