Tekni-Plex to feature latest tubing solutions at Medtec China

Tekni-Plex will be featuring its latest tubing solutions for drug delivery, intravenous therapy and interventional catheters at Medtec China in September.

The demand for locally sourced medical grade tubing is rapidly increasing in the China marketplace. This includes silicone tubing used for patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) pumps and peristaltic pumps for IV therapy.

Tekni-Plex medical-grade silicone tubing is manufactured in a clean-room environment at a subsidiary’s manufacturing facility in Suzhou, China. Custom silicone tubing is manufactured in sizes with inside diameters ranging from 0.2 to 25 mm (0.008 to 0.984 inches) and wall thicknesses ranging from 0.1 to 3.0 mm (0.004 to 0.118 inches). These tubes are available with tolerances as low as +/- 0.03 mm (+/- 0.001 inch).

It will also be presenting melt-extruded tubing used for endovascular and other IV applications. Recently developed three-layer PEBA/bond/PE tubing used for rapid-exchange balloon catheters offers cardiovascular catheter companies a local source for critical tubing used to track the guidewire during interventional procedures. The company will also present radiopaque striped thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) used for IV cannulas.

Medtec China takes place from 25-27 September in Shanghai.
