Tekni-Films discusses latest material at MD&M East

Packaging materials supplier, Tekni-Films, will be talking about its recently-launched super barrier-coated (SBC) thermoformable film for pharmaceutical blister packs at MD&M East this week.

The company has positioned its SBC 240 as a performance and improved-cost alternative for 4- and 6-mil PCTFE and cold formed foil for thermoformable blister applications. The material’s triplex structure in designed for applications across industries including pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals and probiotics.

Tekni-Films’ latest material has been designed with cost savings all the way through the packaging process, including cartons and cases, as well as improved production efficiencies. Due to the SCB’s properties, pharmaceutical companies can use a smaller blister card to contain the same number of tablets or capsules or increase the count on a same-sized card.

Tekni-Films is also discussing its TekniMD PX copolyester film series with grades that provide a cost-effective alternative to PETG for thermoformed medical tray packaging. The company also offers a laminated alternative to PVC for thermoformed pharmaceutical blister applications.

More so, the company is displaying its ultra-high barrier PVDC coating and a wide variety of other multilayer packaging structures that deliver oxygen and water vapour barrier properties to help protect pharmaceutical and medical device products.

You can find Tekni-Films on booth 1839 at MD&M East.
