A look inside the spinal theatre of the future

NSpine, a UK course for spinal surgeries, will now offer a new session, ‘G-Spine’, which will focus on the theatre of the future.

The new G-Spine session will feature contributions from speakers in the IT, engineering and surgical fields. NSpine says that talks will be "tech" oriented but will still maintain sufficient breadth to allow delegates from different backgrounds to exchange content, problems and solutions.

The concept of the ‘virtual theatre’ and of remote operating/virtual enhancement will be discussed in detail, promises NSpine, as will advanced implant engineering.

Materials advancements and commercial realities will also make the agenda.

G-Spine is being run in conjunction with Donal McNally and the University of Nottingham Faculty of Engineering.

Bronek Boszczyk, co-founder of the NSpine Programme said: “With the continual advances in technology, combining new and innovative techniques with traditional surgical practices allow us to increase our skill set and radically change our approach which can only be beneficial to future patient care.”

The next NSpine conference will be held at the Nottingham Conference Centre from 22-28 June 2015.
