Manchester diagnostics company raising awareness for gynaecological cancers

In support of Gynaecological Cancer Awareness Month, a Manchester-based cervical cancer diagnostic company is helping raise awareness of the five gynaecological cancers.

Zilico, who are based on the Manchester Science Park, is supporting The Eve Appeal’s UK campaign to help people become more aware of the early signs and symptoms.

The company is highlighting stories by clinicians, patients and their partners on social media throughout the month.

In the UK, 21,000 women are diagnosed with a form of gynaecological cancer every year and an estimated 21 women lose their battle every day.

The Eve Appeal is aiming to ensure that both women and men know what symptoms to look out for. A lack of basic knowledge about the female body, as well as how the female anatomy works is reported by The Eve Appeal.

Gynae Month aims to help educate women about their body and let them know what to look out for in terms of unexpected changes in their vagina or vulva, as well as being aware of the signs and symptoms of a gynaecological cancer.

Sameer Kothari, CEO of Zilico said: “I admire the work of The Eve Appeal as it helps raise awareness of gynae cancers. Too many women are diagnosed with gynae cancers each year so it’s important that both women and men know what to look out for.”

A video is available, released by The Eve Appeal, which explains all about gynaecological cancers.
