Portescap exhibits precision motors during Compamed

During this year’s Compamed, Portescap is presenting its latest precision motors.

The motors have been designed specifically for the medical market, and Portescap wants to demonstrate how engaging with design engineers early in the project ensures true collaborative innovation.

Compamed visitors are able to see a complete range of motors, encoders and gearheads that deliver power and precision with extremely small footprints. Portescap’s stand also features several application examples including surgical hand tools and infusion systems.

Ahead of the event, Jamie Gewirtz, Portescap’s research and development manager for surgical motors commented: “Portescap was a pioneer in sterilisable motors and has been supplying the medical market for decades; today our products can be found in hospital wards and operating theatres around the world.

“The first thing that stand visitors will notice is the breadth of standard products that are available to choose from. However, the message we want them to take away is the added value of customisation that our design engineers offer when engaged early in the research and development stages.

“By working in partnership with our customers as early as the ideation stage of a new project, we can create highly differentiated custom concepts that are truly unique to their application. The benefits of early collaborative innovation then feed through to the project, including rapid prototyping and testing, as well as final lead times as low as 14 days for some customised solutions.”

Both sales and technical managers are on stand H18 in hall 8b during Compamed. The event is taking place from 18th to 21st November in Düsseldorf.
