Philips launches new patient monitors in UK

Efficia patient monitors allow clinicians to enhance definitive diagnosis, monitoring and therapy in budget-conscious healthcare settings

Royal Philips has launched of Efficia CM series patient monitors in the UK.

Efficia is designed to provide clinicians with access to high-quality care despite funding limitations.

Effective patient monitoring can help improve diagnosis and provide earlier intervention, which is not only critical for improving patient outcomes, but can also help hospitals improve operational efficiencies.

The Efficia CM series of patient monitors provides the same physiological measurements and algorithms that are present in other Philips patient monitors but are designed to be more cost-effective and scalable to the needs of budget-constrained healthcare settings.

Lee Moger, business manager for patient care and monitoring solutions, Philips Healthcare, said: “As we innovate to improve health care, monetary constraints should not be a reason for limiting access to the best care available for improving a patient’s health.

“Because budget and quality matter, Efficia is the obvious choice. The Efficia series is designed to bring trusted Philips technology and performance at an affordable price.”

Jay Mangat, medical physics clinical scientist from University Hospital Leicester, said: “The new Philips Efficia patient monitor has some great features such as its touchscreen and screen resolution as well as being within my price range.

“I would see it being suitable for use in the general ward setting where you don’t need to connect to a central station.”
