Opening up shop in China

Gerresheimer has expanded its global capacities for medical plastic systems with the opening of a technical competence center at the Donguan facility in China.

The centre in Donguan is Gerresheimer’s third, the other two being in Wackersdorf in Germany, and Peachtree in the US.

The new TCC is located directly across from the production facility, establishing a fast track for swift and smooth coordination. “In future, this latest addition to our facility in China with its integral approach will significantly shorten our products’ time-to-market,“ Michael Wiglenda, Director TCC Wackersdorf, explains.

Gerresheimer started manufacturing a wide range of inhalers in China in 2006. The Chinese facility covers all production stages – from injection moulding, assembly and finishing right through to testing and packaging. Injection moulding and assembly are carried out in an ISO class 8 cleanroom. At Donguan, Gerresheimer also manufactures and assembles a wide range of products for the diagnotistics segment such as lancing devices for diabetes patients, plastic infustion components and diagnostics disposables for laboratories.
