NPE2018 to feature new Medical Parts Processing Zone

The NPE2018: The Plastics Show will feature a new Medical Parts Processing Zone next year, the Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS) has announced.

The new sector-specific zone will focus on plastics materials, processes and technology advances for medical devices and diagnostics in healthcare industries.

By 2023 revenue from medical device manufacturing is expected to grow by 3%. The growth is apparent due to the use of plastics in the medical and healthcare industries to create medical devices and equipment.

Glenn Anderson, NPE2018 executive committee chair, said: “Breakthroughs in the use of plastics will drive future medical care efficiencies and bring life-saving advances to hospitals globally. The Medical Parts Processing Zone will connect new technology providers with equipment manufacturers to source medical innovations and support the business initiatives of vertical market attendees.”

Among the highlights of the Medical Parts Processing Zone will be equipment, supplies and solutions used for cleanroom technology.

NPE2018 will feature 11 Technology Zones with highlights such as the new Bottle Zone, as well as an expanded Refocus Zone and 3D/4D Printing Zone, designed to address growing market demands, highlight innovations and technologies and provide customised education.
