Novo Nordisk, GSK, Baxter and Smithers Rapra to Present at E&L Europe
Extractables and Leachables (E&L Europe) is now less than a month away. The conference features a two-day programme covering analytical advances in extractables and leachables, insight into best practice from materials, toxicologist and pharmaceutical companies’ perspectives, plus poster sessions and unrivalled networking opportunities.
The upcoming conference has seen a record number of registrations, with 100 attendees expected to join the event in London, from pharmaceutical manufacturers, medical device manufacturers, packaging and materials suppliers, CROs and academia, including companies AstraZeneca, B.Braun Medical, Bayer, Dow Corning, Leo Pharma, Merck, Novartis Pharma, Roche Diagnostics and more.
Not only will E&L Europe 2013 be the biggest event dedicated to extractables and leachables to date, it also has a sold out exhibition area, featuring exhibits from: GERSTEL, PPD, Toxikon, Bibra Toxicology Advice & Consulting and TNO Triskelion. Plus, taking place in the networking areas, the first poster presentations to be displayed at this conference will complement the two day conference programme to showcase further research into extractable and leachable testing.
Speakers including Dr Mike Hodgson from GlaxoSmithKline, Thilde Marboe from Ferring Pharmaceuticals and Dr Reinhard Stidl from Baxter Innovations will guide attendees through an agenda developed to help attendees meet regulatory requirements and ensure compatibility in drug-package combinations. The programme will cover the all-important issues surrounding extractables and leachables from SUS components, the evolving USP standards for pharmaceutical packaging/delivery systems, and the toxicological evaluations of extractables and leachables.
A highlight of this year’s agenda will be a unique session on glass versus plastic packaging with respect to E&L’s, including presentations from BD Medical and Gerrresheimer, plus a complete supply chain perspective on E&Ls from COC materials from Promens Medical Packaging, Novo Nordisk and Smithers Rapra, culminating in a panel discussion focusing on glass versus plastic container closure systems.
