Mold-Masters claims new system could save manufacturers time

Mold-Masters, a melt delivery and control system specialist, explains how its new system could save time for manufacturers.

Mold-Masters’ new system - Melt-CUBE EVO enables 2-8 cavities per cube.

The Melt-CUBE system is based on a compact tool design with up to 38% reduction of the tool area. This reduction allows tools to be used on significantly smaller machines.

The system possesses horizontal tips which aim to offer fast and easy maintenance options as well as an extended processing window. The Melt-CUBE EVO system also claims to only require a single screw to fix each pair of tips.

With a 64-cavity tool, Mold-Masters’ claim that the calculated time saving during assembly could be up to five hours. This simplified design, alongside the associated fast assembly/disassembly option could offer time savings which could be vital for many tool designs. Additionally, as a result of the design, the alignment is not thermally influenced.

Other features of the new system include the wider process window which allows the processing of a wide range of resins.

Typical applications for the Melt-CUBE product series are medical, as well as technical parts and packaging.

The Melt-CUBE is suitable for processing several plastics including, but not limited to; acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), polycarbonate (PC), polyoxymethylene (POM), polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), high-density polyethylene (HDPE), linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) and cyclic olefin copolymer (COC).
