MedPharmPlast Europe Seminar

EuPC, European Plastic Converters—a trade association for plastic processors—is holding a seminar on medical plastics. The announcement about the event is as follows.

The medical and pharmaceutical devices market is increasingly strategic for the plastics industry. Its growth rate is above 7% per year and outsourcing within the market is even growing at above 10% annually.

In the coming months the European Parliament and the Council will decide about important changes in the legislation affecting the medical devices market. Some of the proposed amendments intend to forbid the use of quite a lot of substances. Our seminar October 2, 2013, is intended to give you insights into the proposed regulatory changes, and to provide EuPC with your opinion so that it can correctly defend the position our sector at EU level.

We therefore cordially invite all EuPC national plastics associations and their member companies involved in plastics for medical devices and pharmaceutical packaging to participate in the MedPharmPlast Europe seminar which will be held in the EuPC offices, Brussels, on October 2, 2013, from 10:00 to 16:00. There is no participation fee.

Although a lot of organisations already exist for medical devices manufacturers, nothing exists to represent the interest of plastics and plastics processors. That’s why EuPC has asked and recently obtained from the European Commission to represent plastics for medical devices through a direct participation in the European Medical Devices Expert Group

In despite of the enormous differences in products and markets between the actors in the medical devices and pharmaceutical packaging sector our objectives are to:

In order to fulfill our objectives together with the NPAs and their involved member companies we have decided to launch MedPharmPlast Europe during our seminar on the 2nd of Oct 2013 in the EuPC offices in Brussels as the “platform where companies involved in plastics for medical devices and pharmaceutical packaging can meet, discuss and share information at European level”.
