Medilink to host events to help life science firms prepare for Brexit

Medilink UK is hosting a series of free regional events to help medtech and life science businesses prepare for Brexit.

The events will take place in London, Leeds, Bristol, Cardiff and Birmingham. The government maintains that the UK will leave the European Union on 31 October 2019, with or without a deal in place. To ensure life science businesses are prepared for this eventuality, Medilink will provide guidance and detailed information on behalf of the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS).

The events aim to help businesses understand the risks and opportunities that Brexit presents by giving them access to experts on regulatory and legal considerations, trading implications, intellectual property, export opportunities and more. There are also eight free subject-specific webinars that can be booked onto by visiting: www.medilink.co.uk/brexit. It is advised businesses register for the event and webinars, as content may vary.

Dr David Parry, CEO at South East Health Technologies Alliance (SEHTA), which will lead the London event, said: “Conversations I have with businesses in our sector are confirming that many life science and medical technology businesses are not fully prepared for Brexit and could really benefit from expert guidance and detailed information about both the risks and opportunities. I urge businesses to attend, even if they think they are prepared.”
