Selenis presents technical PET resins with RIC1 recycling code

Selenis, global supplier of specialty polyester solutions for diverse applications, presented a variety of recyclable solutions at K-2022.

Duarte Matos Gil, the company’s CEO commented “Selenis is dedicated to providing solutions to the challenges our planet faces. Our long history in the polymers industry feeds our know-how and experience to achieve sustainability in both the solutions we offer to our customers. We have centered our innovation efforts in markets where the pressure for recyclable solutions is higher because the life of the product is shorter, meaning end of life solutions are more critical.”

Their newly launched Venuz CE product, is a copolyesters that is fully recyclable in the PET stream. These resins can carry RIC1 designation, in accordance with California Act Assembly Bill 906 and ASTM D7611/D7611M - Standard Practice for Coding Plastic Manufactured Articles for Resin Identification.

Selenis, is a subsidiary of the IMG Group, a multinational with more than sixty years of experience in the industry. With production sites in Portugal, Italy, and now the USA, Selenis has flexible batch and continuous SPP technology, permitting the production of a wide range of polymers to meet highly technical markets. In October 2019, Selenis commercialised their Eco Resins – supplying a sustainable version of all their product portfolio: all products can be produced with up to 50% post-consumer recycled content. In 2021, they scaled-up their production of these sustainable resins to full production volumes, and immediately sought to guarantee the traceability of these products by certifying them through Recyclass, that same year.
