ZwickRoell highlights its green credentials with new facility opening

ZwickRoell marked the opening of its new Worcester UK Xperience Centre with three days of activities as the company highlighted its green credentials with the opening of its new facility.

The first day saw the official opening with welcome speeches from Benno Sadowski, managing director of ZwickRoell UK & Ireland, and leading figures from local authorities, as well as a medley of national anthems from the ZwickRoell Band from Germany of all four nations of the United Kingdom, Ireland and Iceland – signalling the markets the new Worcester facility will serve.

Addressing guests on the first day, Sadowski said: “This marks a significant moment in the history of our organisation as we unveil a start-of-the-art facility that will serve as a cornerstone of our future growth and development.”

With sustainability becoming an ever-increasing factor across many industries, Sadowski was keen to highlight the role the company is playing in being environmentally friendly.

“This event is not just about celebrating the completion of the impressive structure, but also recognising the importance of carbon neutrality and its critical role in preserving the environment. As we stand here today it is our duty to acknowledge the challenges posed by climate change and to do our part in addressing them.

“Our commitment to sustainability is reflected in the construction and design of this building which has been built with the environment in mind. From the materials used in the construction to the energy efficient systems installed, we have strived to minimise our carbon footprint and make this building as environmentally friendly as possible.

“As we move forward, we must continue to prioritise sustainability and the protection of our planet. It is our collective responsibility to reduce carbon emissions, promote more sustainable practices and to ensure a cleaner, healthier future for generations to come.”

Guests were also given a tour of the Xperience Centre prior to the UK Testing Forum that followed for two days.

The first day focused on sustainability and the role of renewable energy during materials testing, focussing on hydrogen testing, battery testing and testing at high temperature including speakers from EDF and Bangor University.

Day two of the Testing Forum showcased the latest technology and trends on materials testing within the medical and pharmaceutical industry, featuring special guest speakers from companies such as Corin, Medical Engineering Systems (MET), Teva Runcorn as well as ZwickRoell’s own medical experts.

ZwickRoell will be exhibiting at Med-Tech Innovation Expo on 7-8 June on Stand B18. Register for FREE at www.med-techexpo.com.
