MedTech Europe appoints Oliver Bisazza as CEO

The Board of MedTech Europe has announced the appointment of Oliver Bisazza as the new chief executive officer of MedTech Europe with effect from 2 January 2023, succeeding Serge Bernasconi who has announced his retirement.

After more than 10 years as the head of MedTech Europe, Serge Bernasconi has announced his retirement and will remain MedTech Europe’s acting CEO until the 2nd of January 2023. Oliver Bisazza, currently director general industrial policies & external affairs in the organisation, has been appointed by the Board to replace Serge Bernasconi as MedTech Europe chief executive officer.

He leaves behind a strong, very professional and highly respected organisation. We wish him the best for his well-deserved retirement. We are very pleased that Oliver Bisazza has accepted the position of CEO of MedTech Europe. He has a broad and quite unique experience, from both the industry and different trade associations, as well as a solid knowledge of the key dossiers we are involved with and of the EU institutions, which we believe will be very valuable for our organisation and industry” says Rob ten Hoedt, chairman of the Board of MedTech Europe.

Oliver Bisazza has 15 years of professional experience in Brussels. Approximately 10 of those years have been spent in Industrial Policies roles in trade associations representing the medical technology and other industries. Prior to joining MedTech Europe in 2017, he worked at the medical devices manufacturer Medtronic, as director of Regulatory Policy for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region.
