Hardie Polymers completes management buyout

Hardie Polymers, a specialist polymer supply business, has completed a management buyout.

Backed by Nevis Capital, Isy Ferguson and Bartosz Komanski have completed the buyout, ensuring a smooth transition with hopes of growing the business.

Isy Ferguson, managing director, said: “We were absolutely delighted and we’re feeling positive about everything. We've had really great support from customers and suppliers and even from software competitors.”

While the former owner, Fergus Hardie, remains as a shareholder and director, he will no longer be working on day-to-day operations.

The company was originally established in 1924 and will soon be celebrating it’s100th anniversary. As an independent distributor of engineering polymers in the UK, it supplies plastic raw materials for the automotive, aerospace, medical and defence sectors.

After working for the company for over 25 years, Ferguson wants to make sure that the family traditions are upheld: “I think it's historically been a family company, so we wanted to continue that tradition and we wanted to see that follow through.”
