Boddingtons invests in five new injection moulding machines

To meet demand for a new OEM client in the pharmaceutical sector, medical device manufacturer, Boddingtons, has invested in five new injection moulding machines.

Four Fanuc injection moulding machines were delivered during February and March 2021and are now fully commissioned in the Boddingtons Class 7 cleanroom Marden, Kent facility. The fifth machine will arrive in June 2021.

The new order involves a combination of tool transfer and new tooling. The bulk of the moulding work at Boddingtons will be the production of components for pharmaceutical devices that are used to test bacteriological, viral and cell cultures as well as a multitude of analytical processes.

According to Boddingtons CEO Andy Tibbs, the company has already secured several contracts and has more in the pipeline.  

Highlighting its commitment to its medical and healthcare future, the company has also invested in the Mitutoyo Quick Vision Active CMM machine and the universal MDSAP medical quality qualification.
