Beacon MedTech Solutions acquisition creates win–win for customers

Beacon Manufacturing Group has acquired Acromatic Plastics, a provider of highly engineered, precision moulded products, components, and services for use in a variety of markets and applications.

The acquisition provides Beacon Manufacturing Group with a 110,000-sq. ft, state-of the-art manufacturing facility that will be available to its Beacon MedTech Solutions business to support future growth plans. The facility provides the scale, capacity, and capability Beacon MedTech needs to accelerate the launch of new programmes while delivering exceptional services to support the needs of its existing customers.

Plans are underway to add cleanroom capacity and build out Beacon’s tooling and liquid silicone rubber (LSR) moulding capabilities at the facility in Leominster, MA. This enables Beacon MedTech to meet the demand for its contract manufacturing services and precision moulded products, components, and sub-assemblies for single-use technologies, Class II medical devices, and other medical, biopharma, and life sciences end-use applications. The company has also entered into a partnership agreement with Sumitomo Demag to purchase several injection moulding machines with the first two expected to be delivered in Q4 2021.

“This acquisition is critical in enabling Beacon MedTech Solutions to expedite the delivery of vital innovations to our Medical, Life Sciences, and Bio-Pharma customers. We’re committed to expanding our footprint, scale and capabilities to support our customers’ growth and are enthused that capacity upgrades, leasehold improvements and new equipment installations are scheduled to be completed during the first half of 2022,” said Bob May, CEO of Beacon Manufacturing Group. “At the same time, we are pleased to offer Acromatic’s customers greater access to expanded capabilities, engineering resources and services as they become part of Beacon Engineered Solutions. It truly is a win–win for customers and employees across both businesses.”

Now known as Beacon Engineered Solutions, Acromatic Plastics will continue to provide its customers with the high-quality products, components, services, and support that they have come to expect from this mixed-use facility. Customers will benefit from expanded moulding capabilities and engineering services, as well as Beacon Engineered Solutions’ long track record of success in launching custom, complex, precision-molded products and component assemblies for use across a broad range of industries and demanding end-use applications.
