Medica showcases UK innovation

British healthcare technology companies are exhibiting a high level of interest in Medica 2016 and are keen to develop and foster worldwide trade links post Brexit.

The world forum for medicine is organised by the Association of British Healthcare Industries (ABHI) and will showcase cutting edge technologies and world-class UK innovations.

The show provides UK companies a platform to meet with distributors and buyers from around the world and highlights how British developments are helping the lives of patients and clinicians worldwide.

As a world leader in healthcare innovation the UK is home to some of the world’s most innovative medical technology and generates £18.1 billion of turnover each year.

Paul Benton, international director of the ABHI, said:

“We are extremely excited to be travelling to Medica and to showcase the high level of expertise that the UK has to offer. The UK is open for business and is keen to forge global healthcare links and Medica offers the perfect platform to do this. Leading British businesses are bringing solutions to healthcare challenges that will transform the way care is provided in the future and will have the power to radically improve outcomes for patients, globally.”

Medical inventions originating for Britain include hip replacement treatment, the development of the CT scanner and the development of the first multi-articulated prosthetic hand.
