Manufacturer launches free monthly webinar series to help engineers turn ideas in to reality

Polymer solutions provider, Porex, announces plans to launch a new monthly educational webinar series titled, “The Science INSIDE” .

These webinars will be targeted at any design and manufacturing engineer who needs help solving a design challenge with an existing product, or who is working on a new product concept.

The series will aim to explain the science behind porous polymer technologies, as well as how design and manufacturing engineers can utilise the appropriate material components to improve product performance. It will also explore the various types of porous polymer technologies and the critical functionalities they can provide for applications in many industries including healthcare.

The first episode will take place on August 27th, 2019, and will look in to the capabilities of sintered particle components. Episodes have been scheduled up to December, with the plan to add episodes on a monthly basis.

Avi Robbins, vice president of global product development and research and development, Porex, plans to lead the episodes which will last for around 45 minutes each. At the end of each episode, Robbins will participate in a live question and answer session, where engineers will have the opportunity to ask questions about specific applications.

Robbins commented: “Porous polymers play an unseen, yet crucial, role in many of the items we use every day.

“These materials provide internal functions including absorption, application, wicking, diffusion, filtration and venting so that products – from whiteboard markers and protection vents to medical devices and in vitro diagnostic tests – can become more innovative and their performance optimised in their respective industries. I look forward to educating more engineers on the power of these materials so that they can turn their product ideas into reality.”

Information about the first five episodes of the series is listed on their website, as well as information on how to register for these free webinars.
