Simona America introduces orthotics & prosthetics grade sheet

Simona America announces the availability of seven thermoplastic sheet materials to meet diverse requirements for strength and stiffness in orthopaedic applications. Designated Simona Simolife sheet, the products are manufactured to standards for cleanliness and consistent shrinkage in forming developed by the company for the O&P industry. 

The new product group includes PETG, polypropylene homopolymer and copolymer grades, high and low density polyethylene, and EVA sheet in flex and super flex versions, all available in industry colours and sizes. Strength and stiffness properties as measured by modulus of elasticity range from 235,000 psi for PETG down to 2700 psi for EVA superflex.

In addition to process controls, SIMONA America has set specifications on incoming resin formulations to enhance sheet consistency. The company certifies that all production lots meet its standards, as well as FDA standards for physiological safety.
