Scientific moulding? There’s an app for that

Fimmtech, a consulting firm specialised in scientific injection moulding consulting and training has launched an app for scientific moulding, available for Android and Apple iOS.

Scientific Moulding, allows moulders to generate moulding graphs (such as viscosity, cavity balance and gate seal), perform moulding calculations, and keep up with the latest processing knowledge through the Fimmtech Learning Center.

“We saw a need among processers for a mobile app, in order to perform the day-to-day calculations on a mobile device rather than go back to their desks,” said Suhas Kulkarni, President of Fimmtech.  “Our app provides a platform for the processor to generate the process development graphs right at the moulding machine and email it. Several calculation tools are included such as one for transferring the process from an existing machine to another. The tool will calculate the process parameters for the machine under consideration. This saves time and avoids redeveloping the process.”

Fimmtech also recently opened a Training Center in southern California to aid ongoing educational seminars on Scientific Moulding; topics include robust process development, part design, failure analysis, and process validations.  The classroom seminars include hands-on learning utilizing a 100-ton injection moulding machine.  Customised, in-house seminars are also available at the client site.

Fimmtech’s app for Android and Apple devices is available now through Google Play and the App Store.
