Innovators invited to join UK Government at Medical Trade Fair

UK life sciences innovators eager to build their global business and showcase UK expertise to key international buyers are invited to join the Department for International Trade (DIT) at one of the largest events for the medical sector.

This year, the UK’s Department for International Trade has joined forces with the Association of British HealthTech Industries (ABHI) – the UK's leading industry association for health technology – to increase the visibility of UK companies at the MEDICA trade fair.

For both market leaders and pioneering start-ups, the four-day exhibition presents a prime opportunity to showcase their latest products, technologies and services to key buyers from across the world, and forge, enrich and strengthen business relationships.

Aphrodite Spanou, interim director for science & technology, said: “Join us at Medica 2022, as we follow last year’s success with a larger in person event, showcasing UK innovation and research as we are committed to strengthening our leading position as a global science and technology superpower.”

“The UK has a thriving MedTech environment producing efficacious, effective and safe solutions that reduce costs and improve quality. That’s why the UK, one of the world's most advanced patient centric medical technology innovators, is one of the top destinations for investment in Europe. We are delighted to invite you to learn how DIT help your company.”

MEDICA is a global exhibition and each year around 121,000 visitors from more than 120 countries meet in its halls in Düsseldorf to explore innovations and trends within the medical sector.

Export-ready businesses looking to access expert advice and support to grow their global business are encouraged to apply by 15 September 2022 to attend this year’s show as part of the DIT delegation.

All delegates will benefit from a comprehensive suite of support before, during and after the event, helping them raise their profile, make valuable contacts and drive forward their international ambitions. All companies benefit from 1-2-1 meetings with DIT officers, networking advice, pre-event market briefings, and attendance at key DIT networking events.

The joint DIT & ABHI UK Pavilion stand this year will also provide a unique opportunity for innovators to join UK Government in showcasing the strengths of UK HealthTech and innovation on the international stage.

Michelle Michelucci, international manager, ABHI said: “We are proud to be working closely with DIT, to offer an extensive programme of support to help businesses demonstrate their life-changing innovations, technologies and services, connect with key buyers, and join a unique delegation comprising of the most forward-thinking companies within the industry. We look forward to supporting them in driving forward their international ambitions and showcasing to the world that the UK is open for business.”

Companies joining DIT at this year’s exhibition will benefit from a low cost, high value package, helping them secure deals and widen networks, gain access to industry and market experts, and raise their profile – and overall, get the most value out of exhibiting.
