ABHI unveils first UK Pavilion at Global Health Exhibition

The Association of British HealthTech Industries (ABHI) – the UK's Trade Association for HealthTech – has announced the launch of its first-ever UK Pavilion at the rapidly growing Global Health Exhibition in Saudi Arabia.

The ABHI UK Pavilion will offer an opportunity for UK HealthTech innovators to showcase their latest healthcare advancements to the burgeoning market in Saudi Arabia. With a focus on driving export growth and fostering collaborations, the Pavilion aims to strengthen the presence of UK HealthTech companies in this dynamic region.

Global Health Exhibition takes place from 2-4 October in the Saudi capital of Riyadh. This year’s edition is set to attract 15,000 professional visitors, featuring 120 speakers and 164 exhibitors from 23 countries over three impactful days.

ABHI is supporting UK SMEs in entering and expanding within this market. Saudi Arabia has shown a demand for medical devices, diagnostics, and digital health technologies, presenting a valuable opportunity for UK companies to showcase their expertise and establish fruitful partnerships.

Michelle Michelucci, head of international events, ABHI, commented: “Global Health Exhibition is the ultimate gateway to growth in Saudi Arabia and the wider Middle East region. We are thrilled to announce the launch of the first ever UK Pavilion at this year’s show, exclusively designed to support UK SMEs in showcasing their expertise and capabilities while establishing fruitful partnerships in this dynamic region. By securing your place at the ABHI UK Pavilion, you will join HealthTech players, gaining unrivalled exposure and forging valuable connections. It’s a really exciting opportunity to proudly represent the UK alongside the most exceptional HealthTech innovators at the premier healthcare trade event in Saudi Arabia.”

Saudi Arabia has made strides in improving its healthcare infrastructure in recent years, with several large capital projects underway and planned, creating a demand for proven HealthTech solutions. This has been driven, in part, by a rise in demand, and fuelled by its huge potential to be developed as a medical tourist destination. The Kingdom constitutes around 60% of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries’ healthcare expenditure, and in recognition of healthcare's priority status, the government set aside a budget of $36.8 billion for healthcare and social development this year.

Saudi Arabia's location in the Middle East provides UK life science companies with access to neighbouring markets, including the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Oman, which have also made investments in healthcare infrastructure. With a population of over 34 million people, Saudi Arabia represents a substantial market opportunity for UK life science companies.

Under the patronage of the Saudi Ministry of Health, the Global Health Exhibition is poised for exponential growth, making it an unmissable opportunity for UK HealthTech innovators looking to meet and do business with the Saudi healthcare sector.

ABHI's UK Pavilion provides a dedicated space within the Global Health Exhibition where UK HealthTech innovators can showcase their expertise, strengthen their presence in the market and establish partnerships with key stakeholders.
