UDI laser marking workstations being shown at Medica

FOBA Laser Marking + Engraving Solutions, a Unique Device Identification (UDI) labeling solutions specialist, is presenting its M-Series vision-assisted laser marking workstations for UDI parts marking at this year’s Medica.

This year FOBA Laser Marking + Engraving is celebrating its 50th anniversary. The company began with mechanical engraving in 1969 and has continued to develop the labeling of industrial products and components ever since. Since 2001, the company has focused solely on laser technology.

Following years of experience, FOBA considers itself to be a specialist within this field and claims to understand multiple aspects of UDI labelling, including innovative technology, mark validation, process qualification, consultation and service.

During Medica, FOBA’s M2000 marking station is being exhibited. This technology claims to provide optimised features for medical marking requirements, such as high-end technical features like “Mosaic” for marking without product fixtures.

“We are attending this important international event with great expectations,” said Christian Söhner, FOBA’s global medical market manager before the show. “Visitors to our stand will have the opportunity to learn more about our holistic vision-guided marking process, including Mosaic, the cost-saving and fully automated mark alignment functionality that does not require any part fixtures.”

It is really important for medical device manufacturers to ensure the latest medical device regulations and Food and Drug Administration regulated marking and quality requirements are implemented within UDI labeling. FOBA aims to offer both the most appropriate laser marking technology and the necessary installation qualification, operational qualification and performance qualification for machine and process qualification. FOBA’s technology is designed to be highly efficient with user-friendly operational conditions.

FOBA’s laser marking workstations as well as basic rail systems for line integration can be equipped with Intelligent Mark Positioning (IMP). This feature is based on a laser head integrated camera for pre and post part validation and mark alignment. It ensures a safe and error free marking process.

FOBA are on stand L23 in hall 15 during Medica. The show is taking place in Düsseldorf from 18th to 21st November 2019.
