VitalMED has been acquired by Kelpac Medical, a PPC Industries company and manufacturer of packaging and tubing for the medical device industry

VitalMED manufactures precision injected moulded components for medical applications and offers design and development as well as contract assembly services.

Jonathan Waldron, CEO and president of PPC, said: “The acquisition of VitalMED allows Kelpac Medical to execute on our strategy to provide a full range of customised medical components and assemblies to our current customer base.

“In addition to our current portfolio of customised medical tubing, medical packaging, micro bore tubing and catheters, our customers will now benefit from VitalMED’s comprehensive offering of precision moulded medical components, development and contract services and can take advantage of single-source solutions from a trusted partner.”

VitalMED was founded in 1999 by Andrew Lanciano and Steve Walsh.  Lanciano said: “After 15 years of running VitalMED as a standalone organisation, Steve and I are honoured for VitalMED to become part of a larger, stronger organisation and thereby provide additional value to our customers.”

Joseph Lawler, chairman of PPC and a Kohlberg and Company operating partner, PPC’s primary shareholder, said: “The VitalMED acquisition is a large step toward achieving our goal to become a multi-product, medical device componentry platform and we look forward to continuing our organic and acquisition-driven growth toward that end.”

The VitalMED brand will continue under Kelpac Medical.
