Interplas is Back! - Plastics industry comes out in force to support UK show

Rapid News Communications Group (RNCG), the new organisers of Interplas, are delighted to report that the 2011 edition of the exhibition, held 27-29 September at the NEC, has seen exhibitors and visitors alike hail it as a resounding success.

The anticipation of a revitalised Interplas was abundant across the plastics industry in the run up to the show and this played out during the open period with busy aisles throughout the three days.

Almost 9,000 attendees came through the doors with the quality of the visitors particularly high. The 300 exhibiting companies reported significant lead levels and in many cases orders were taken on stand. Many companies have already reserved their space for the next show, which underlines the success and signals continued support for 2014.

Reg Golding, Managing Director of Frigel commented “Well done to Rapid News and its Associates - your professional and endless efforts have put Interplas back on the map of major plastics industry exhibitions”

Graham Porcas, Director of Proma Machinery was delighted with the quality of visitor. “We had more serious enquiries each day than in the whole of the last show and having now started on the follow up, I am very impressed with the quality level, as most are enquiries from completely new companies and industries with very different applications.”

Lee Thomas Managing Director of TH Plastics endorsed this view, “This is our very first Interplas and we had five very strong enquiries in the first hour of day one, so we're very pleased. These leads aren't just general enquiries either; they are enquiries from people with imminent projects that they have come here to find a solution for.”

The combination of first class suppliers on the show floor and free of charge seminar sessions, paid for car parking and free visitor Wi-Fi proved a winning formula for visitors and the stage is now set for further growth in 2014.

Duncan Wood, Managing Director of the Events Division at RNCG commented, “I am absolutely delighted with the feedback we have had since the event. It is unusual to get so many unsolicited comments but our email, forums and twitter have been alive with positive noises that really reinforce the buzz we experienced during the open days. The show-floor was busy throughout, the booths, many of them looking superb, were a hive of activity and several significant deals, some in excess of half a million pounds, were concluded onsite.”

“Our exhibitors put their trust in Rapid News and in our plans to re-energise Interplas and given that many of them have remarked that they feel the show is back on track I am confident that we have repaid that trust. Their efforts, along with those of the key industry organisations, are vital to delivering a vibrant event and for this I wish to formally acknowledge the contribution from the plastic industry itself.”

“I must also pay tribute to the fantastic Events Team at Rapid News, they can be proud of their contribution and backed by the publishing arm which really got behind the event they have all contributed to the success, we are now looking forward to 2014 and upping the game even further.”

Interplas 2014 will take place on 30 September - 2 October 2014, Hall 4, NEC, Birmingham, UK
