Industry 4.0 conference connects manufacturers

Specialist plastics research consultancy AMI will hold the “Industry for Plastics Processors” conference on 7 March 2017 which looks at how the internet can benefit manufacturing.

Industry 4.0 is sometimes referred to as the fourth Industrial Revolution or the Smart Factory. It has the potential to allow every processing detail to be attached to a component for immediate recall from anywhere in the world at any time.

The conference will be opened by Dr. Oliver Krause, associate Director from leading international management consulting firm Arthur D. Little, who will give an overview of the challenges and opportunities facing a digital transformation.

Other sessions in the conference’s programme include a look at how smart services are able to reduce costs and increase revenue, a series of case studies demonstrating Industry 4.0 in action, an opportunity for delegates to find out what Industry 4.0 means for the plastics sector and more.

The conference will conclude with Susan Reiblein, an independent consultant whose paper covers protection of the intellectual asset in the digital manufacturing process.

In addition to delivering quality papers, the conference also offers cost-effective networking opportunities with its extensive table top exhibition area. The full programme for the conference can be found here.
