Gerresheimer showcases miniaturised packaging components

Gerresheimer is showcasing its products and services in pharmaceutical packaging products at Compamed this week

At Compamed Gerresheimer is showcasing its miniaturisation techniques, mold engineering, injection molding solutions and measuring technology for validation and process control

Gerresheimer’s definition of miniturisation for medical device components is – a part with any single dimension of less than 1 mm, a weight of less than 0.3 g and a tolerance of less than 30µm. To make these parts the company uses micro-injection molding systems that can manufacture extremely small parts precisely.

The mold engineering systems Gerresheimer is showing at Compamed are for reproducible high precision mold inserts

Gerresheimer’s injection molding solutions are for extremely small volumes
where conventional injection molding machines aren’t suitable due to long holding times in the plasticising unit and in the tool’s hot runner system resulting in material shrinkage.

The solution Gerresheimer is exhibiting at Compamed overcomes these challenges through multi-cavity molds and optimised injection molding machines with special screws and back flow.

Gerresheimer is showcasing its products and services at Compamed on stand G31 in hall 8b.
