Freudenberg Medical expands thermoplastic injection moulding capabilities

Medical devices manufacturer, Freudenberg Medical, has expanded its range of thermoplastic micro injection moulding capabilities with the addition of an Arburg micro injection modular machine.

The addition of advanced micro moulding services was made to meet customers’ increasingly challenging moulding requirements.

Project manager & master moulder II at Freudenberg Medical’s Baldwin Park operation, said: “Engineering grade materials can be sensitive to shear and a very fine level of control is needed to produce shot weights under 0.1 gram. With our new thermoplastic micro moulding workcell we can produce very small shot sizes with great accuracy.”

Ancillary services to complement thermoplastic micro moulding include robotic part handling with integrated vision inspection systems and integration with the RJG eDART System for process control and monitoring when in-cavity pressure transducers are built into the mould.
