Expected exhibitors at this year's Compamed published

A list of exhibitors who will be at this year’s event in Düsseldorf, Germany has been published. Exhibitors are expected from Germany, Switzerland, France, the USA, the Netherlands, Austria, Great Britain, Greece, Belgium and Spain.

Also on show is the Compamed High-Tech Forum, organised by IVAM, offers insight into research and development of the exhibited processes and products, explains technology trends and provides information on relevant foreign markets.

Below is what is expected from each company: 

Sensor Technology:

ams Sensors Germany  presents NanEye, a miniature sized image sensor for applications, where size is a critical factor. The ability of the camera head to drive a signal through a cable up to 3m, makes NanEye a suitable component for minimal diameter endoscopes.

CiS Forschungsinstitut für Mikrosensorik develops technologies for customized optoelectronic, piezoresistive and impedimetric sensors. Among the novelties are optical sensors for continuous monitoring of the blood pressure without a cuff.

European Sensor Systems will present silicon capacitive pressure sensors, which withstands up to 20x overpressure, at the fair. The company’s ESCP3-M1 Series is a digital Silicon Capacitive differential pressure sensor family of ultra-high resolution and excellent long-term stability.

Innovative Sensor Technology presents its sensor portfolio, consisting of thin and thick film platinum and nickel RTD temperature sensors, thermal mass flow sensors, capacitive humidity sensors, humidity modules, conductivity sensors and biosensors.

Sensirion is a manufacturer of sensors for the measurement and control of gas and liquid flow, differential pressure, humidity, temperature, volatile organic compounds (VOC), CO2 and particulate matter (PM2.5).

RFiD:

The FEIG ELECTRONIC develops and manufactures RFID components for installation in medical devices and for process optimisation in hospitals.

The microsensys operates as a company in the field of development and production of technically sophisticated RFID system components. Specialised in RFID system solutions based on a wide standard product range in the HF and UHF frequency areas, the company offers a product range consisting of different RFID transponders, innovative RFID sensor transponders and data loggers as well as smart low-power RFID read/write devices and user-friendly software tools.

Tailor-made high-tech microelectronics for complex medical devices:

AEMtec provides engineering competencies for sophisticated medical devices from class 1 to class 3, such as implants, imaging systems and applications for daily use in mobile diagnostics

The CorTec enables communication between the nervous system and artificial intelligence. CorTecs Brain Interchange technology is an implantable system that records and stimulates brain activity chronically for long-term use. The company is also providing single individual components like flexible electrodes or high-channel encapsulations together with electronics and software.

The Exceet electronics is a specialist for industrialised and automated development and manufacturing of high-quality and complex electronic modules, components and systems. In medical technology for example, they adopt the overall responsibility for the development and manufacturing of medical devices and support their admission.

The Fraunhofer Institute for Electronic Nano Systems shows technologies and systems for Smart Health. The products range from medical miniaturised sensor and actuator systems including system integration and biocompatible encapsulation for medical implants.

Imec is a research and innovation hub in nano-electronics and is bringing chip technology to healthcare.

Microdul specialises in high-quality microelectronics. The company's three business lines are customised modules, thick-film and mixed-signal low-power ASICs.

Optiprint offers consultation, development and manufacture of circuit boards with innovative PCB solutions. These include high frequency printed circuit boards, metal-core printed circuit boards, flexible and flex-rigid printed circuit boards, ultra-fine lines and printed circuit boards with ticer foil – thin film resistor technology.

SMT ELEKTRONIK work on development, production and the full service of electronic assemblies and devices. In order to make it possible, to begin projects at any step of the process chain SMT ELEKTRONKI developed the EMS-Preflight method.

The Turck duotec develops and produces miniaturised electronic components such as LED lighting on ceramic substrates and overmoulded sensor modules.

Micro- and Nano coatings for high-tech surfaces

At ACHEMA 2018 Coatema Machinery GmbH and Optima Life Science announced a new alliance. The alliance, which is known as Comedco, is intended to make it easier for pharmaceutical companies to move into manufacturing and packaging transdermal patches and oral dispersable films with pharmaceutical active ingredients.

Specialty Coating Systems focuses on Parylene conformal coatings and technologies for the medical device industry.

Surfix presents its new nanocoatings for micro- and nanodevices. The nanocoatings can be applied on various inorganic and polymeric materials, and even inside microfluidic channels.

Microfludic components and systems enable Point-of-Care-applications:

HNP Mikrosysteme – a producer of micro annular gear pumps.

microLIQUID has developed a combination of skills including microfluidic design, nano and microfabrication, polymer sciences and automated assembly. microLIQUID also develops and manufactures fully automated analyser systems and drug delivery equipment focused on diagnostic and pharmaceutical markets.

The PoC-ID Project c/o Micropathology is a Platform for Point-of-Care Diagnostics for Infectious Diseases: The EU-funded PoC-ID project has developed a prototype of a point-of-care system for the diagnosis of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infections in the pediatric context.

Research, development and manufacturing services for medical technology

Hahn-Schickard’s applications range from intelligent drug dosing systems, assistance systems for medical rehabilitation to printed electronics in DNA analysis.

The Fraunhofer Institute for Ceramic Technologies and Systems is certified under the German Medical Devices Act for its R&D efforts in the field of bioceramic materials and components for use in medical technology. These materials are mainly used in dental technology and endoprosthetics, specifically as bone replacement materials, and in the design of bioceramic surfaces and ceramic bodies.

The Fraunhofer Institute for Reliability and Microintegration works on advanced integration techniques for innovative medical devices. Applications range from ultraminiaturized implants, cardiovascular diagnostic catheters to wearables for multisensor monitoring.

Statice has provided contract R&D and contract manufacturing of advanced medical devices for almost 40 years. Examples presented at COMPAMED include: short-term and long-term implants made of silicone or polymers; specific catheters, endoscopes, ancillaries and electro-medical devices for laboratories and doctors surgery; electrospun patches or tubes for wound surgery; drug delivery with controlled release of drugs.

Glasses, optical assemblies, systems and components

Berliner Glas KGaA Herbert Kubatz integrates optics, mechanics and electronics into innovative system solutions. These solutions are used in the entire light-using industry – from the medical technology, life sciences, semiconductor industry, laser and space technology, metrology right through to analytics.

IMT Masken und Teilungen develops and produces large volumes of consumables, custom-made microfluidic devices, optical components and sensors in glass and quartz.

Jenoptik develops specific system and application solutions with customers worldwide in the healthcare sector and industry. The product portfolio includes semiconductor chips, optoelectronics, laser technology, polymer optics, electronics and software.

Mikrop develops, manufactures and assembles highly complex, miniaturized optical components and micro-optic modules.

VIAOPTIC is a supplier for customized molded polymer optics and assemblies for automotive, sensor, illumination and medical applications.

Volpi provides customized smart optical modules for IVD and Life Sciences applications including molecular diagnostics, clinical chemistry, digital microscopy, microbiology, immunoassay, and point of care.

Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology ILT’s experts develop and optimise laser beam sources and laser processes. In close cooperation with its clients, it uses laser technology to solve tasks for production, measurement technology, environment, energy, medical technology and biotechnology, all done in real life situations.

Leister Technologies Deutschland provides laser systems for plastic welding, which enable new production methods for automotive, medical, sensor, electronics and microsystems technology.

Micreon are contract manufacturers and technology consultants for micromachining with ultrafast lasers.

Multiphoton Optics presents its LithoProf3D - Equipment for high-precision 3D printing.

Miniaturised components and systems for manufacturing of high quality medical devices:

Balda Medical, part of Stevanato Group, focuses on high precision injection molding and automated assembly and packaging.

Beutter focus on fine-mechanical components of high manufacturing depth in small series.

CG.TEC Injection manufactures miniature parts out of plastic injection-moulding. The firm designs parts for manufacturing and makes the precision tooling on site.

Electromag is specialised in the design, production and sale of high-speed, low noise miniature brushless motors for the medical industry.

Micro Systems UK will be running a Wittmann MicroPower micro injection moulding machine cell, producing a demonstrator lab on a chip two component base part.
