Event: Global Plastics Summit 2015

The Global Plastics Summit (GPS) is to take place at the Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel in Chicago from 28-30 October

IHS Chemical and the Plastics Industry Trade Asscociation (SPI) have announced that Skylar Tibbits, MIT Scientist, inventor and 4-D printing pioneer, will serve as the innovation keynote speaker for GPS on 30 October.

In his presentation, entitled “Next Generation Beyond: Glimpse into the Future. The Next Generation of Plastics,” Tibbits will discuss his work on 4-D printing, and the role the plastics industry is poised to play in the development of this new technology.

Nick Vafiadis, senior director, global polyolefins and plastics at IHS Chemical, said: “Skylar will inspire GPS attendees to think about the potential of the technology, and how they can innovate to help solve diverse problems from healthcare to aging infrastructure.”
