European debut for DuPont and Dow Silicones medical portfolio

For the first time in Europe, DuPont and Dow Silicones Corporation, subsidiaries of the specialty products division of DowDuPont, are bringing together two strong material portfolios to showcase at the Fakuma trade fair taking place in Friedrichshafen, Germany.  

Visitors to the Dupont stand at Fakuma 2018 can expect to see; Dow Corning-branded medical silicones which encompass a range of silicone-based performance enhancing materials for the healthcare industry, including silicone elastomers. There will also be thermoplastics used in the manufacture of demanding components in various applications such as drug delivery devices.

This combined portfolio is drawing on both companies’ legacy in material research, application development, technology and regulatory compliance expertise to advance healthcare through material innovation, backed by global manufacturing and supply strength.

The newest generation of Dow Corning-branded silicone-based Low Temperature Processing and Self Bonding LSR, soft-skin and pressure sensitive adhesives as well as tubes connections will be featured, along with the medical device components made with DuPont specialty polymers.

The latter will spotlight its Crastin SC193 NC010 polybutylene terephthalate resin reinforced with 30% glass fibre which can be processed using injection moulding. The blend has been specifically developed for the healthcare industry.
