Engel's customer technology centre offers new possibilities
Engel, a manufacturer of plastics processing machines, launches a new customer technology centre, 'Engel Technology Centre. Innovation at heart' at its headquarters in Schwertberg, Austria.
The technology centre includes 1700m2 of machine floor space.
Stefan Engleder, CEO of the Engel Group says: “With the new possibilities offered by our customer technology centre, we are able to demonstrate in a particularly vivid and tangible way how this great potential can be leveraged not only completely, but also efficiently and economically, in line with the individual requirements of the processors.”
The Engel technology centre is connected to other technology centres at Engel’s plants and subsidiaries worldwide; this allows the machines to be used optimally across multiple locations. Engleder explains: “From Schwertberg, we can monitor and remotely maintain the production cells in Shanghai, Mexico or Hanover, for example.”
Engel believe that intelligent assistance systems can aid transparency and make major contributions towards increasing the efficiency of production within smart factories. Thus, all of the machines in the new technology centre are equipped with a wide variety of assistance systems from Engel's iQ product family including; iQ weight control, iQ clamp control, iQ flow control, and the brand-new iQ systems which Engel will be presenting at K 2019 in Düsseldorf in October.
Engleder concludes: “At the technology centre, we show what is possible today and what we will make possible in collaboration with our customers in the future.
“In the future, knowledge databases will empower us to solve the challenges of injection moulding practice even faster and more purposefully.”
